Events and Programs
Ms. Catherine Pita Marko is the Program Manager of Eve Organization for Women Development in Juba – South Sudan. Apart from managing the programs of the Organization, Catherine has demonstrated a strong commitment to UNSCR 1325 that seeks to stress the importance of women in peace processes as well as decision-making in South Sudan. Due to her relentless commitment to this mandate, She had been on the forefront with the South Sudan Women Platform for Peace, which is actively involved in the South Sudan peace process.
She had been one of the lead in the team to develop the South Sudanese Women Position Paper and advocated for the appointment of a Senior Gender Advisor for the IGAD lead South Sudan Peace process. Catherine is also the lead researcher and writer of the report “The Effect of the December 2013 Conflict on Women in South Sudan”. She participated in the Isis WICCE institute program for women activist of 2013 in Kampala - Uganda and 2014 in Thailand. She also facilitated a number of workshops, conferences and trainings on peace and national building and conflict mitigation and resolution within South Sudan. Ms. Catherine is passionate on working for and with women to contribute in resolving the enormous challenges that women and girls face in South Sudan.
Ms. Catherine holds a Masters degree on Education Management and Administration from Kampala International University.
The Board of Directors is the governing body that represents and manages the interests of the organization according to the decisions and directives of the Eve organization. It is composed of the executive director, one Program assistant, a program coordinator and a program manager .
