A staff member of Eve Organization for Women Development has successfully completed an intensive three-month training in Digital Media to Counter Disinformation and Hate Speech held in the Netherlands.
The training, spearheaded by Radio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC) in collaboration with Orange Knowledge under the Nuffic Scholarship Programme, brought together media and journalism professionals from Africa, Asia, and the MENA regions. Among them was Charles Lotara, the Communication Officer at Eve Organization, who exhibited enthusiasm and dedication throughout the program.
From February 19th to March 8th, 2024, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of digital media, including target audience mapping, digital content moderation, information verification, and mobile filming. The training sessions, held in the historic city of Haarlem in Northern Holland, combined theoretical learning with hands-on practical exercises facilitated by expert trainers in their respective fields.
At the conclusion of the program, participants were awarded certificates of completion, marking a significant milestone in their professional development. They were then tasked with implementing the acquired skills within their respective organizations, with an assessment scheduled six months later to evaluate the impact of the training.
Mr Lotara, with years of experience in journalism and communications, expressed his gratitude to the management of Eve Organization for their unwavering support throughout this career-enhancing initiative. He articulated his commitment to utilizing the newly acquired knowledge to produce counter-narrative videos challenging societal norms that marginalize women.
