A group of women supported by Eve Organization for Women has established Lirya Women’s Association, a non-profit Community Based Organization set to make a lasting impact on the community of Lirya Payam in Juba County, Central Equatoria State.

During the hand-over ceremony, the women were sensitized on effective lobby and advocacy strategies, as well as the essential functions and elements contributing to the success of an organization. The empowerment session focused on the establishment of policies critical to the smooth operation of the newly-formed association.

Christopher Sebit, the Administrator of Lirya Payam, graced the occasion as a witness to this significant step forward. His presence highlighted the communal support and recognition of the importance of such initiatives in driving positive societal change.

As these women take on the responsibility of leading the Lirya Women’s Association, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges that may arise.

Christine Akulang, the chairlady of the association, expressed her commitment to steering the association toward its goals. Her dedication symbolizes the determination of the women involved to create a positive impact on their community. The Lirya Women’s Association is not merely an organization; it is a beacon of hope, empowerment, and progress.

This initiative goes beyond the establishment of a women-led association; it signifies a collective effort to uplift the entire community. By focusing on lobby and advocacy strategies, the association aims to address pressing issues, amplify the voices of women, and contribute to positive social change.

As we witness the birth of the Lirya Women’s Association, it is a moment to celebrate the resilience and strength of women coming together for a common cause.
